I have to say that people complain a bit too much about everything. Very well located by metro close to republic station, 3 different bakeries close by where you can get a sandwich and coffee to go ... sandwich costs less than 5 eur and is always fresh and serves as a meal... 3 pharmacies also close by, and they speak very good English there and are super helpful. The receptionists and the the hotel owner are super nice and helpful.... the room is standard size for paris, bathroom was also good and clean. No coffee making facilities in the room, but there were 2 glasses in the room. Bed was comfortable slightly on the harder side and there is an extra pillow in the wardrobe. We got a room next to the elevator, might have been a bit more noisy than the rooms further in, but this was minimal and I did not find this too concerning as I slept like a baby. It is not as bad as other reviews make you believe. I did not opt for the breakfast at the hotel due to the fact that we were travelling in a group and I rather sleep an extra 30 minutes and grab something on the go, however people travelling in our group did say that for 10 eur breakfast provided was a good buffet. Luggage storage also available, and as pointed out in a review I came across, the luggage is stored in a room used by the stuff to rest.... the room was not always locked , however is it right next to reception and there was always someone there , so the room is still guarded. I have been to a 4 star hotel in Milan, and they stored our luggage in the corridor, so this is better.over all this hotel is very good value for money, people were welcoming and nice and hotel well connected ... would recommend any time and will stay here again

Little tiny hotel about a 15-20 minute walk with suitcases from La Gare du Nord- pretty much straight down the road. Even closer to Gare d'Est. Felt like a safe area despite riots just before we arrived. Staff were friendly and helpful, the room was bigger than we expected and very clean and in good condition, the shower room too though the sink plug got stuck cos the lever didn't work, but a helpful staff member used a plunger and sucked it back up :D . Popular boulangerie around the corner (queues all day 8am-10pm), and plenty of places to eat within walking distance and food was generally good everywhere in Paris (unlike in Rome!) We walked everywhere practically, 30 minutes walk gets you to most tourist sites, only took the Metro a few times but lots of choice with several Metro stations nearby, so very well placed. There is a little wine bar called Foudre in the Rue du Château d'Eau with a nice ambience and ex-sommelier owner, really nice wines, and cheese to go with it. We were very happy with the hotel. Security was good too, front door locked when no one was at the desk.

It does what it says on the tin! It's a little hotel in a great location, great value and perfect for a leisure break. I've read some minor moans about the lift and the breakfast, but our experience was excellent. Yes the lift is small - I've never seen one like it before, but it was a great quirky feature! It was big enough for one person with all the luggage, no problem! As for the breakfast - cereal, fruit, croissants and jam, ham and cheese, bread, baguette and excellent coffee. Just the job! One day it was running low, so the kind lady on reception went round the corner with her purse and bought fresh baguettes to top it up! Superb service 😀 The room was compact, but clean and comfortable and serviced every day. The hotel is a couple of stops on the metro from Gare du Nord (Jacques Bonsergent - 1 minute from the hotel) and a 5 minute walk from Place de la Republique. A great find....we will definitely stay again!

A big thank you to the staff and the gentleman at reception! We were allowed to check in earlier than the time specified, which was very kind. The room was cozy, clean, and tidy. Our windows overlooked a charming courtyard where we could see how local residents live — it added a special touch to our stay. The room was very warm, the heating worked perfectly, and there was always hot water. We were also impressed to learn that, as we understood, this is a historic family-run hotel. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of options. We especially remember the kind French lady who enthusiastically told us about the basement dining room in French. We didn’t understand much, but hearing pure French speech was just WOW! Everything was simply wonderful!

Nice cozy hotel, very clean, comfortable and pretty quiet! Excellent location, next to a beautiful neighborhood full of choices for food and drinks (Canal St Martin), the metro station is just around the corner and the main train stations (Gare du' Nord & Gare del' Est) are 10 minutes way or even in walkable distance. Also a number of landmarks and must-visit neighborhoods can be walked to (Le Marais, Pompidou, Louvre Museum) or the metro will take you anywhere in Paris quite fast. Recommended for experiencing the cultural vibe of Paris, the atmosphere and the history of the city.
